Join NSW Socialists Western Sydney for a discussion with Josh Lees, a lead organiser in the Palestine Action Group. Josh was in Italy during the general strike, and saw firsthand the power of workers to fight imperialism and stand with Palestine.

For two years, governments around the world — including Australia’s Labor government — have armed, funded and backed Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.

While Albanese keeps the arms trade flowing and offers only symbolic gestures, millions of ordinary people globally have marched for a free Palestine. But people power doesn’t stop in the streets — workers have the potential to bring entire economies to a halt.

Most recently Italian workers led a general strike for Palestine which paralysed the economy and demonstrated the immense power of the working class. Subsequently Spain held strikes in solidarity with Palestine.
