Why are our hospitals so f*cked? Healthcare in the hunter public meeting

Sun 11 Oct @ 1:00 PM

71 Tudor St, Hamilton NSW 2303

Join us to find out what’s going on in Newcastle hospitals, why capitalism is to blame, and how you can get involved in the NSW Socialists and our fight for a decent society.

Hospitals across Australia are in crisis, and Newcastle is no exception.

The Mater Hospital is riddled with mould that’s killing healthy patients and endangering the safety of health workers. The John Hunter is constantly understaffed and short on beds, leaving patients stranded. This is the result of a system that treats healthcare as a commodity, and a Labor government that follows that logic to its conclusion – privatising hospitals, underpaying nurses, and treating working-class patients like dirt.

Come hear from midwife and union activist Zoe Edwards, alongside NSW Socialists candidate for Wallsend, Kate Doherty. Share your hospital horror stories with like-minded people, get up to speed with the NSW Socialists campaign, and find out how to get involved in our fight against the Minns government and the sick system of capitalism.
